English Classes
English for Women-Led Community Action and Economic Justice

For new immigrants, learning English is a critical step to fulfilling their aspiration for a better life in the United States. Our ESOL/Economic Justice Program is survival, action-oriented English with a participatory model which emphasizes leadership development, community organizing, and civic engagement. We provide English language instruction, employment training, academic counseling, goal setting, computer training, job searching, resume writing, interviewing skills, and workers’ rights.
Registration for SEPTEMBER 2020 English Classes will open soon!
WEE offers two levels of ESL classes, ranging from low beginner to high beginner. Our literacy program provides newcomers with a positive environment to help them gain and improve English language skills and break down the barriers to employment. Materials and activities for children with a dedicated staff member are provided during classes. Students are always welcome to stay after class to enjoy tea and coffee. As a supplement WEE offers enrolled ESL participants a conversational group that meets each week on Mondays.
